LeaderBuild and ManagerBuild
The starting point
Managing and leading ask for different things, and most people are doing both without naming which one they’re in. A morning of clearing blockages for the people in front of you, an afternoon of thinking about where the function needs to be in eighteen months, and no real handover between the two.
That’s manageable on your own, but across a layer of ten or fifteen managers, it becomes energetically expensive. After this session, your team makes better decisions, collaborates more strongly, and leads their own teams with more clarity.
ManagerBuild
For people leaders working close in, with direct reports and a week that feels like it belongs to other people.
Managers leave able to name how they actually operate, how their colleagues operate, and the ways of working that bring stronger collaboration and more trust possible.
- The one-on-ones that go well and the ones that don’t, and what strategies you are using that make the difference
- The habits you’ve kept because they worked in a team you no longer have
- The person on your team you find hardest to manage, and what it looks like when you stop reading them as difficult
- What someone’s low energy is telling you, when it isn’t attitude and isn’t capability
- Where your best people are underused, and what changes in their work this quarter
LeaderBuild
For people setting direction, holding a function or a portfolio, and answering for where things are heading rather than where they are.
Leaders leave with clarity on their unique contribution, real connection with the people around them, and the recognition that the strategies that got them promoted are not the ones that will take them further.
Where the day goes
- What you’re likely to miss, given how your mind naturally moves when you think about what’s next
- The signals your team keeps raising that you keep filtering out
- Whether your read on the next twelve months is evidence or familiarity
- Bringing people with you on something long-term when your natural way of doing it lands with half the room
- The calls you’re still making that your team is ready to make, and what has to be true before you let go
Why a whole layer at once
Run this across a layer, not a person at a time, and your team comes out with the same working language. The conversation about why a decision felt slow, or why someone pushed back, stops being about personality and starts being about how the work actually gets done.
It also surfaces where the group has drifted apart on what they think their role is for, which is usually more useful than anyone expects going in.
What's involved
- A short data assessment beforehand, with a Manager or Leader specific report for every participant
- Full day, in person
- Individual and collective operating styles mapped and made visible across the room
- Applied to how the team actually works, what it looks like day to day and how it gets results
- Rituals designed to build the new way of working into how the business already runs
- Reassembly session to embed the language and keep it alive after the day ends
- 1:1 debriefs and coaching sessions available as an add-on
- Groups of up to 10 work best
What's the timing
We are only running three of these per quarter. Next round begins at the beginning of next month, with assessment reports landing before.
Investment
These experiences start at $9,500 for a team of 10, including full Leader or Manager reports for every participant.
Pay in full and save 10%, or pay across three instalments through the engagement.
If your team can’t name their own operating style, and read each other’s, by the end of the Reassembly session, we run it again, on us.
Sessions are facilitated by Lorissa Garcia, a Gallup-trained coach with an MBA in Leadership and Innovation, and certifications spanning Organisational and Leadership coaching. Lorissa has worked with hundreds of leaders and managers across Australia, Asia and the Pacific to develop ways of working that have real impact on connection, trust and collaboration. TeamBuild
Have a team you think would benefit from this experience? For intact teams rather than a layer of leaders, this session maps individual operating styles against the collective picture of how the group actually works.
